Understanding the community entails understanding it in a number of ways. Whether or not the community is defined geographically, it still has a geographic context -- a setting that it exists in. Getting a clear sense of this setting may be key to a full understanding of it. At the same time, it's important to understand the specific community you're concerned with. You have to get to know its people, their culture, their concerns and have to develop your own relationships with them as well. Manthan foundation endeavours to portray the developmental backdrop of diverse cultures under the department of community services and efforts to divulge the ethnic amalgam of communal heritage thereto.
We have initiated our community services wing by launching our Sindhi community portal “PM-sindhisaga.info” taking it as the representative of Hindu Religion. We further aspire to add more communities of other religions as well to our community services kitty as we work to disseminate Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam and Unity in Diversity; our cultural hallmark and the real beauty of our nation globally.
We believe that solution to all the identified social tight spots can be instituted in the corridors of education. We work as a catalyst in bringing sustainable change through education and skills development. We feel it is both- a means as well as an end to a better life; means, because it empowers an individual to earn his/her employment and an end because it amplifies one's awareness on a range of issues- from healthcare to appropriate social behavior to understanding one's rights, and in the course to progress as a better citizen.
On this front, we persistently undertake skills development activities, counseling and motivational programs for the underprivileged, greenhorns, seasoned professionals and general populace at large in order to groom their life styles and to perk up their output in personal and professional domain. We also endeavor to undertake talent hunt programmes to explore the skills of hidden gems in our surroundings. Our initiave “Eklavya Olympiad” is one its kind and is on the floor to crave out the solitaries and bring them into limelight.
It has been revealed through various studies as well as our experience that when women are supported and empowered, the entire society benefits. Their families are healthier, children are progressed towards basic and higher education, income levels perk up and communities turn more affluent. But ironically in India, away from being empowered, the majority women are deprived of even their basic rights like health, education, employment and an upright status in society. We endeavor to empower the women by developing their skills and turning them into Change Agents, who in turn actively contribute to the community mobilization process.
In Line, our women wing via “Progressive Ladies Club” is on the headway comprising of ladies of diverse communities who are working as catalyst to bring out civic driven change and are refining the social sustenance in true sense.
Manthan Foundation believes that unless members of the civil society are implicated proactively in the process of development , the change cannot be substantiated. Believing in this principle of ‘Civic Driven Change’, we sensitize the civil society in order to make a mutually enriching partnership in this mission.
